Nigerian popular Nollywood actor Taiwo Ibikunle urged the newly inducted students of Performing Arts at Adekunle Ajasin University not to be lazy.

Ibikunle, who served as this year's chief priest, also performed at the induction ceremony held at the school's Obasanjo Multi-purpose (OBJ) Hall yesterday.

He emphasized the smart and hardworking attitudes required to survive in the field, urging the inductees to be diligent, disciplined, and focused on their dreams as they are officially named Thespians.

"You (inductees) are about to start a journey, and you will start with a step which you have taken right now. Be diligent and disciplined. Theatre arts is not for lazy people," Ibikunle advised.

This year's event marked the 7th edition of AAUA PFA induction and climaxed with the emergence of a veteran actor from Nigeria cinema who conducted the initiation rites on the new students.

It was a fun-filled experience for all guests as the inductees performed in a series of musical beats, drama, and dance with acrobatic and cultural displays.

The enviable potential in these promising students became quite obvious and more interesting immediately when Ibikunle Taiwo received a standing ovation for them on the second day of the induction.

Awards of excellence were also given to some students who performed diligently in their different roles. They include Olarenwaju Tosin and Arewa Oluwanifemi, Best Actor; Azeez Sheriff, Best Male Dancer; Adetunji Samuel, Most Reliable Fresher; Esampo Covenant, Most Diligent Male; Adeoluwa, in the female category; Abiola Precious and Babatunji Adeshewa, Best Female Dancer and Best Male Singer respectively; Amule Bolatife, Most Reserved Inductee; Paul Grace, among others.
