The Scar, a movie tackling the ill of child abuse in our society is set to be premiered on Friday at Obasanjo Multi-purpose Hall, Adekunle Ajasin University.
The movie was directed by Olubodun Akintunde and from the stables of the Department of Mass Communication.
Synopsis
The Scar is a story that reflects the effects of a toxic relationship between a mother and her daughter.
Dara is a 15year old girl, who is constantly blamed by her mother, Iyabo for her present predicament. Dissatisfied with her own life, Iyabo exposes her daughter to rape, prostitution, and maltreatment.
While living every day as it comes with little hope for a better future, Dara meets Ruth, the CEO of a Public Relations firm.
Shortly after their paths cross, circumstance requires Dara to live with her.
Dara begins her new life with so much excitement, as she continues her education. Unfortunately, her joy didn't last long as expected.
