In celebration of the 2021 International Workers' Day, the management of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko has announced Monday, May 3rd, 2021 as a public holiday.
This was contained in a circular released, and signed by the Registrar, Gbenga Arajulu, today.
According to the circular, except for those on essential duties, the school is to be closed for official duties on Monday.
The circular reads, "I write on behalf of the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olugbenga E. IGE, to inform all staff and students that the Federal Government has declared Monday, 3rd May 2021 as a public holiday to mark Workers' Day."
"The Acting Vice-Chancellor has, therefore, directed that the University be closed for official duties on Monday, 3rd May 2021, except those on essential duties. All members of staff and students are requested to note that official activities resume on Tuesday, 4th May, 2021".
"On behalf of the Acting Vice-Chancellor, I wish you all a peaceful holiday.
"Thank you."
