The Dean of Students Affair, Professor Olusegun Akanbi, has revealed the reason the management of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko pegged 2022/2023 school fees as the criterion for voting in the ongoing Students Union Election.
According to the Dean, the 'No School Fees, No Voting policy, was as a result of the cancellation of the 2021/2022 academic session.
In an interview with ECHO MEDIA, the Dean noted that those that have not registered for the 2022/2023 session cannot be recognized as students and for this reason they are unqualified to vote.

Furthermore he pleaded that students should pay their school fees so as to be recognized by the management.
In his words 'No school fees, No voting is a normal thing', if you have not registered, you are not qualified to vote, payment of this session is a ticket you can use to vote .
"We have one session in between which has been canceled, for instance those that just graduated, they ought to have graduated so we are not expecting anybody not to have registered for this session. We cannot allow them to use the registration of two years ago to vote.
"They should pay their school fees on time, even in our own time, if you have not registered you are not a student and if you do not vote. We know that the economic situation of Nigeria is not favorable but at the same time, they should pay."
