AAUASU Election: We'll Be Transparent, Presidential Candidates Promise

In preparation for the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA) Students Union election slated for May 4, the candidates vying for the post of president have shared their vision for the student populace of the institution.

During the manifesto organized by the Students Electoral Committee (SUEC) hosted by Nigeria Union of Campus Journalist (NUCJ) AAUA chapter which was held at the Old Relaxation center, the presidential candidates in person of, Adekanye Mayomi Adebayo and Fakaisi Michael Dotun clamored for students' votes as they stated their desire to move the University forward.

One of the presidential candidates, Adekanye Mayomi Adebayo, popularly known as INEC promised that the SU would be accountable and responsible as they act as watchdog as well as checks and balances in the University.

He added that his top priority would be the students as he would provide utmost security and promote peaceful coexistence between the students and the indigenous people of the host community, Akungba-Akoko.

INEC said, "Leaders are never perfect as everyone has their weaknesses but as long as they keep learning, they are capable of the position."

He declared that his mandate is built on pragmatism. 

Another presidential candidate, Fakaisi Michael Dotun, popularly known as WoliMike explained that he was a dynamic and flexible person which had helped him make good strides academically.

He said that the students of AAUA would be properly represented through various mediums for better communication as well as he would provide 10 hours per day electricity for students and more access to shuttle buses.

WoliMike commended the previous administration and promised for continuity and an improvement on the precedents.

He further said that if he doesn't emerge, he wouldn't lose his relevance as an AAUA student.
