A Week Ict Programme: Students Massive Turn Out!!!

 By: Akor Janet
Students from all Faculties have attended the just concluded free Transit Programme (Training all Nigerian Students Information Technology) organized by Bridge-up Nigeria Limited, a licensee of NIIT.

The training which lasted for a week at the Obasanjo Multi-purpose Hall, was merely for all undergraduates to learn and have good knowledge about ICT as new innovation trending daily.

It was also organized to give undergraduates an insight on what they would meet in the labour market after graduating from the school campus.

A 200 level student of Mass Communication, Janet Benson alleged that, "we had the training on a Tuesday morning and everything they said to us was on a slide, no proper practicals and application. It was all based on what we would see in the real world..."

Also, the NIIT group came up with an idea of all students getting registered from free WI-FI so as to enable students connect to transit network.

However, speaking with our correspondents, an official from the Transit Network said that the training is meant to orientate students and give them much insight on the power of ICT and how good it is to have a skill attached to academic works.
