The National Association of Mass Communication Students (NAMACOS) of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), has barred non-members of the association from plying through the department.
This followed the destruction of a barricade put in place of a fence to guide against trespassers who were not members of the association on Saturday.
The association President, Akinlonu Oluwatobiloba in a statement implored the students of AAUA who were not members of NAMACOS to desist from using the route in the department.
'The environment of the Department which was formerly opened to the public as a shortcut to reach their destination on campus has now been restricted to only members of NAMACOS," Akinlonu added.
The statement reads; "From Monday 8th of May 2023, the department of Mass Communication is out of bounds to all non NAMACOSITES.
"The department will no longer be a shortcut to pedestrians trying to cut corners to reach their destination. Ours is a prestigious department and not a passageway."
