By: Emmanuel Oluwadola

There has been a wider spread among students on site and on various social media that AAUA students who have not paid for the 2022/2023 academic session to vote during the election. The claim is misleading and found to be a rumour.

In an interview with the SUEC General Secretary, Comrade Komolafe Abdulquadri Olaleye, he stressed that this time of the election is a critical period as the atmosphere is intense and false information would spread faster under different motives.

His words: "This rumour is from people who want to set the school on fire. There has not been any directive from the School Management that approves students who have not paid for the 2022/2023 academic sessions to vote, as well as from the Students Union Electoral Committee.

"Debunk the rumour, please. Eligibility to vote remains this session payment. Mobilize people but guide them that eligibility is this session payment," he said.
