JUST IN! TUITION FEE SAGA: AAUASU CALLS FOR EMERGENCY CONGRESS

The Students Union of Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba-Akoko has finally called for an emergency to address the tuition fee saga.

The decision was taken by the Combined forces of the Executives and the Legislative arm on Friday evening.

According to the press statement signed by the President, Comrade Adesomoju Samuel 'SAMPRAISE; General Secretary Adebayo Jesutola and Senate President Adebowale Temitope which was obtained by ECHO explained that the decision is in line with the Union's Constitution.

The Union noted that there is no need for Social Media engagement again but a physical meeting to address the tuition fee.

The meeting is scheduled for Monday 10 June, 2019 at the Old Relaxation Center by 9am.

The union further implore all students to come out in mass so as to partake in Te congress and arrive at a reasonable decision.

ECHO recall similar Congress which held in 2018 during Comrade Ijanusi Olawale 'Optimum' which was to address the tuition fee saga that erupted same year. The congress came after a three day protest at the State capital, Akure.

The outcome of the meeting would determine the next step of the Union.

Meanwhile, AAUA management has set June 9 as resumption date and June 17 for examination.

This decision has been countered by the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) saying the No Reduction No Resumption policy will remain.
