Barely two months after his suspension, the General Secretary of the Adekunle Ajasin University Students' Union, Comrade Joel Taiwo, known as Joelistic Joel has resumed office.
Recall that Echo Media reported on April 15 that he was suspended following allegations leveled against him.
His resumption was announced on Monday during the Student Representative Council Plenary session.
Confirming this yesterday during an interview with our correspondent, the AAUA Senate President, Senator Amodu Abiola known as Eja Nla, noted that Joelistic Joel had pasted apology letters on notice boards, as well as submitted his statement of account.
According to him, the report submitted to the house by the committee set up by the SRC also showed that he didn't embezzle donations sent to his account for victims involved in the January 23rd accident.
He said, "He was suspended for 2months. However, it was stated that if he could do the necessary things before the 2 months, he would be reinstated.
"As instructed by the SRC, he sent an apology letter to the house through the honorable clerk. After we received the letter we had to invite him to the house, he then tendered an apology.
"After that, we constituted a committee to check if he pasted the apology letters letter and if there is an error or misappropriation in his statement of account.
"The committee then came to the house with their report. They confirmed that he had pasted the apology letter, and his account was also free of discrepancies. Considering this, they recommended that he should be reinstated immediately."
