A 400-level student of the Mass Communication Department and former Financial Secretary of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Gbiri Daniel has emerged as the President-elect of the Federation of Oka Students' Union (FOSU), Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko chapter.
Daniel politically known as 0'Square pulled 20 votes to defeat his opponent, Amuwa Tosin, from the Department of Criminology and Security Studies with 07 votes.
He was declared the winner by the (FOSUEC) Electoral Body Chairman, Bashorun Adefemi, at the SOMASSA Lecture Theatre B where the chairman said that Daniel satisfactorily met the constitutional requirement of having the highest number of votes.
The Chairman added that 27 ballot papers were only used of out the accredited 45 ballot papers and 18 ballot papers were unused.
In his remark, the President-elect appreciated the students who came out to vote for him in the election despite their academic activities and other schedules.
He said that the students should not lose hope in him as he is taking the mantle of leadership to oversee their affairs on campus.
He further advocated that he would stand by all FOSUAITES and provide for their needs.
However, 0'Square urged all present FOSUAITES to stand by him and also call on other members who are reluctant of coming to the association.
