AAUA Management Lifts Ban on SU Election

The management of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko has lifted the ban on the Students' Union (SU) election to allow the selection of new executives on board.

In a statement signed by the Students Union Electoral Committee (SUEC) Chairman, Professor Olukayode Afolabi, aspirants can now go ahead with their political campaigns and manifestoes across the school.

According to the statement, the collection of forms and registration of voters will start on the 19th of April Wednesday to the 21st of April, 2023 at the office of the Dean of Students Affairs.

Meanwhile, the screening of Aspirants will kick off by 10:00 a.m. on the 26th to 27th of April at the Students’ Affairs building.

It reads: "The submission of a printed nomination form is on Tuesday 25th April 2023 from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Students’ Affairs Office.   

"Other activities like the display of names of qualified candidates and accreditation of agents were slated for Friday 28th April."

The statement added that the election will hold on May 4th, 2023 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at Heritage Building and the hearing of Electoral Petitions was slated for Tuesday, May 9th at the Moot Court.

Meanwhile, the swearing-in and handing-over ceremony for the newly elected Students Executives Council and the Students Representative Council will take place on or before Tuesday, 23rd of May at the Obasanjo Multi-purpose Hall (OBJ).

Also, the Debate and Manifesto will be held on Tuesday, 2nd of May 2023 at the Old Relaxation Centre (RC) and 8 am - 3 pm at Matriculation Ground respectively.
