The Management of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, has announced Wednesday and Thursday as public holidays following the directives of the federal government to mark this year Eid-Ul-Fitr.
This was made known in a circular signed by the Registrar, Gbenga Aralu, yesterday.
"I write on behalf of the Acting Vice-Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Professor Olugbenga E. IGE, to inform all members of staff and students of the University that the Federal Government has declared Wednesday, 12th May, 2021 and Thursday, 13th May, 2021 as public holidays to mark this year's Eid-Ul-Fitr celebration" the circular stated.
The circular added that the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof Olugbenga Ige, has directed that the University be closed for official duties on Wednesday, 12th May, 2021, and Thursday, 13th May, 2021 except those on essential duties.
According to the circular, activities resume back on Friday, 14th May 2021.
It reads, "All members of staff and students are requested to note that official activities resume on Friday, 14th May, 202."
