INSECURITY: AAUASU Warns Students of Suspicious Kidnapping Activities

By Daniel Akinte

Akungba Akoko, Ondo State - The Adekunle Ajasin University Students' Union (AAUASU) has issued a warning alert to students following reports of suspected kidnappers operating within the Akungba community.

According to a statement from AAUASU President Boladale Oyindamola, suspected kidnappers have been spotted around the Permanent Site, Iya Abike Junction, and Iwaro.

The statement claimed that a student reportedly escaped from kidnappers on Wednesday evening after being abducted around 8 PM.

The president stated, "In fact, one of my coursemates was kidnapped around 8 PM that evening but managed to escape near Iwaro Road after a disagreement broke out among the kidnappers. She shared her experience, stating that they were driving a Camry and called her over while she was retrieving her power bank. She mentioned that it felt as though they used a charm to compel her, as she followed them without hesitation and entered their car. They even instructed her to call her friend and lie, saying they had a deal, and that the friend should meet them at Permanent Site Junction."

The AAUASU said it had informed the Akungba Division Police Headquarters about the suspicious activities and is taking additional security measures.

The union advised students to remain vigilant, avoid going out alone, especially at night, as well as be cautious and seek help if necessary.

The statement reads: “OFFICE OF THE  PRESIDENT
