AAUA: NUC Approves Full-Time Mode of 9 New Programmes

By Funmilayo Thomas

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved the full-time mode of nine new programmes proposed by Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), Ondo State.

This was disclosed in a statement recently signed by the NUC's Acting Executive Secretary, Chris J. Maiyaki.

The commission stated that the approval followed resource verification visits carried out by panels of experts to some proposed academic programmes at AAUA.

After assessing the human and material resources available for the establishment of these programmes, the approved programmes include B.NSc. Nursing Science; B.Sc. Public Health; B. Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS); B.Sc. Cyber Security; B.Sc. Data Science; B.Sc. Software Engineering; B.Sc. Information and Communication Technology; B.Sc. Information Systems; and B.Sc. Food Science and Technology.

According to the commission, the full-time mode of these programmes will run on the university's main campus, effective from the 2024/2025 academic session.

The NUC noted that the approval does not cover the part-time mode of delivery; any request for part-time mode should be forwarded to the Commission for further processing.

The commission urged the university community to provide more adequate human and material resources for the development and growth of the approved programmes.
