We Condemn The State-sponsored Terror on our Union President and The Members of His Executives By Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa and His Minions Today

Around 1pm today, the unprecedented happened within the premises of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba - Akoko, Ondo State as our campus was grossly militarized by the Kill and Go security aides who while acting to protect the interest of Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa attacked the personality of the Students' Union president alongside the members of his executives at the Sports Complex gate of the University.

Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa was discovered to have showed up in the premises of our university as a guest at a community empowerment programme organised by the Honourable representing Akoko SouthWest/East, Adegboyega Adefarati, at the Olusegun Obasanjo Multipurpose Hall of the University. Our president, Comrade Boladale Oyindamola, upon being intimated with the news of the presence of the governor, showed up at the premises of the empowerment programme with the members of his executives and conscious comrades. Without being immodest, he humbly requested to see the Governor immediately after the program ended, but he was bounced off the Governor's presence alongside his fellow comrades.

Upon the governor leaving the premises of the programme and considering the population inside the hall who were all trying to feed their eyes and also trying to meet, and greet the Governor, the President attempted to engage the governor at the Sports Complex gates of the University with respect to the condition of the University's health centre, Sports' Complex renovation, and Permanent site road construction but was not allowed. In the stead of being given access to the Governor, he was thereafter invited in the manner despots are known for by the Governor's entourages and exposed to brutal attack by the Governor's security aides as well as the members of his executives. The attack on the leaders of the AAUA Union, sporadic shooting and teargas was so brutal that two of our members and leaders of our union are currently receiving treatments at an undisclosed medical facility. Our President was beaten and wounded.

We are disappointed at the inhuman actions of Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa's security aides who were brutal with action, while facing an harmless citizens of the State and representatives of the Premiere University. We are highly discouraged and will not back down until justice is fully secured for the traumatized students of our prestigious university.

We challenge Governor Ayedatiwa to his excesses and we demand an apology for the brazen atrocities perpetrated via the instrumentality of the State by a governor occupying the office of the citizens today. We demand immediate apology from the Governor and also await his action towards the security aide who intimidated and assaulted our President.

We shall also press an action against his extreme actions by ensuring that he is duly booked for the assault and battery against the leaders of AAUA Union if any action is taken against the students who are expected to represent the interest of their fellow students
