The Students' Union Electoral Committee (SUEC) of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA) has disqualified two aspirants and cleared others for the elective positions in the Students' Union (SU).
The Committee released the list of the qualified and disqualified aspirants after the outcome of the screening exercise held on the 27th of April, 2023 at the Law Moot Court.
According to the screening results signed by the SUEC Chairman, Professor Olukayode Afolabi, only two aspirants were disqualified and others were cleared.
A front-runner for the position of Students' Union President, Adeosun Oluwaseyi Francis, popularly known as Francophone, from the Faculty of Law, was disqualified on the ground of Security Clearance according to the statement.
Another front-runner vying for the post of Welfare Director, Folorusho Ahmed Adekunle, popularly known as Adekunle, from the Department of Political Science, was also disqualified on the ground of Security Clearance.
Other aspirants for the position of Students' Union President, Adekanye Mayomi Adeboye, popularly known as INEC from the Department of Philosophy, and Fakaisi Micheal Dotun, popularly known as WoliMike from the Department of Mathematical Sciences, were cleared and certified by the SUEC.
The other aspirant for the position of the Welfare Director, Omole Ariyo Adekunle, popularly known as Omole from the Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture was cleared with all other candidates aspiring to the available posts in the Union.
