Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, AAUA, Ondo State has matriculated 6,670 students for the 2023/2024 academic session.
The matriculation ceremony was held at the Olusegun Obasanjo Multi-purpose Hall yesterday.
In his address, the AAUA Vice Chancellor, Professor Olugbenga Ebenezer Ige, highlighted the university's commitment to academic excellence and integrity.
Prof. Ige urged the newly admitted students to embrace discipline, hard work, and determination as they embark on their academic journey.
He disclosed that out of over 12,500 applicants from the previous year's UTME, only 6,670 candidates secured admission.
Emphasizing the university's zero-tolerance policy towards social vices, he warned against behaviours such as examination misconduct, cult activities, and indecent dressing.
He assured parents that the University remains dedicated to providing a conducive environment for learning, free from such vices.
Ige further urged the fresh students to seize opportunities for personal and academic growth to contribute to the university's achievements.
