AAUA Truck Crashes Female Hostel Fence

The collapsed fence.

Friday Omosola, Boluwatife Adedokun

A truck belonging to Adekunle Ajasin University Water factory rammed into the fence of the Pioneer female hostel, last week

The accident led to a partial collapse of the fence.

According to an hostelite, the cause of the accident is still unknown and has not been traced to the influence of alcohol, smoking, or brake failure.

She said, "We were in our hostel last week when we heard the sound and after rushing down to the scene, we saw the fence has been broken by the vehicle. We saw the driver trying to reverse."

Another student stated, "If am right, it happened before the fearless concert held on Sunday 25th of July."

Meanwhile, the hostelites stressed the need for the reconstruction of the fence, stating security reasons.

A student who pleaded anonymity said, "We paid our school fees, as well as the hostel rent, and I do not see any reason why the management is not doing anything concerning the affected area".

"I am still wondering why the management has not dived into action in the past one week of its collapse. We are females and we need to be protected."

However, ECHO MEDIA gathered that the blocks for its reconstruction have been arranged.

Also, the officers at the hostel refused to comment on the issue.
