Tuesday 20th and Wednesday 21st July, 2021 have been announced by the Management of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko as public holidays.
This was in line with the directive of the Federal Government in celebration of Ed-el-Kabir.
The university made this known today in a circular released signed by the Registrar, Gbenga Arajulu.
It reads, "This is to inform all members of staff and students of the University that the Federal Government has declared Tuesday 20th and Wednesday 21st July, 2021 as public holidays to celebrate Ed-el-Kabir."
"The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olugbenga E. IGE, has therefore directed that the University be closed down for official duties on Tuesday 20th and Wednesday 21st July, 2021 except those on essential duties. All members of staff and students are requested to note that official activities resume on Thursday, 22nd July, 2021."
The circular also noted that the exams fixed on the holidays shall be rescheduled to hold on the 2nd and 3rd of August.
It further stated, "However, this shift does affect the Faculty of Agriculture and Faculty of Law, as the Sub-Deans of the two Faculties will effect the shift as appropriate.
