Consciousness Alert: Looming Disaster

Looming disaster

It appears those saddled with the responsibility of clearing the drainages in the school are not alive to its duties, and if this unsavoury act of theirs continues unchecked, then a disaster looms.

As we speak, some  drainages are smelling and untidy but the one that grabs our attention the most is the drainage at the back of some resturants, ones way to the public toilet next to the Aluta market.
However, keeping mute on issue as germane as this would be disastrous because of the health and environmental implications this potends. As a result this should also be a source of concern to right thinking persons on campus.

Identification of a problem, they say goes a long way in keeping  it from becoming an emergency, that is 'if'  swift actions are taken. We have identified this and we expect  a swift action as quick as possible, otherwise the foul odour that pervades the area where we have this drainage can cause cholera, malaria amg others all which are communicable diseases, meaning every persons on campus are at risk of contacting this diseases,  generating into an epidemic, which we dont pray for.   Apart from this, as soon as the rain begins it will stop the free flow of water which is harmful to the environment and a threat to some structures.

The most patethic and disheartening, is the fact that we have some resturants Where staffs, lecturers, students amg other patronise prepare their food around this area.
Cooking in an untidy area like this exposes the food to bacteria which is not good for the health. Such unwholesome act  should militated.

We are of the view that measures should be taken to pre-empt and avert this kind of unsavouring situation from futher occurance.
Meanwhile, this should not be seen as an attempt to denigrate or paint the image of the sch in black, (we have nothing against the school we are partner in progres, infact the sch effort towards our existence are in no way small, but we as  a medium we are bound by the social responsibility theory) rather  this should be seen as a timely alert to safe students and other beings on campus from the health and  envirönmental implications this unsavoury act potends.

Therefore, relevant authorities saddled with the respönsibility should immediately take swift actions, or be made thereof to pay for damages their unsavoury act may cause.
Beyond this, we would like the management to strengthen its capacity by creating an effective monitoring units to  look at this kind of issue so that lives are not toyed with.
