The Centre for Storytelling and Development Initiative (CSDI) has donated a sum of N100,000 and some essential items to the Department of Mass Communication, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko chapter.

The donation was made during the 17th Press Week of the National Association of Mass Communication Students (NAMACOS), AAUA chapter, recently held at the ENT 500 auditorium, where prominent figures from the field of journalism, politics, student representatives, and CSDI members were present.

The founder of CSDI, Mr Saheed Ibrahim represented by Rahaman Yusuf, emphasised the importance of supporting educational institutions and the role of journalism in societal development during his speech.

"At CSDI, we believe that nurturing young minds and providing them with necessary resources is crucial for building a better future. Our donation is a testament to our commitment to the growth and development of students who will become tomorrow's leaders."

In his remarks, the president of the association, Oyolola Samuel, said the cash donation would be used judiciously to purchase renovation items for the department.

“We are saying a very big thank you to the CSDI team, as this will help facilitate the renovation of our Mass Communication Department Relaxation Center and provide a better studying environment for Mass Communication students."

A 400-level student at the department, Omolere Covenant, highlighted the significance of the donation, saying, "The funds provided by CSDI will greatly aid our departmental projects. We are grateful for their support and look forward to utilising these resources to their fullest potential."
