The Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, will graduate 6,837 students at its 13th convocation, with 62 students attaining first-class honours.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olugbenga Ige, disclosed this information at a press conference held today at the university's Business School in Akure.
Professor Ige stated, "At this 13th convocation, we are presenting a total of 6,837 graduates from the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 academic sessions."
According to the Vice-Chancellor, two graduating sets from the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 academic sessions will be convocated on December 13 and 14, 2024, at the school's Multipurpose Hall (OBJ).
He further stated, "Sixty-two students achieved first-class honours, 1,941 earned second-class honours (upper division), 3,486 attained second-class honours (lower division), 684 graduated with third-class honours, and eight fell into the pass category."
Professor Ige also noted that 657 of the 6,837 graduands are postgraduate students, with 46 conferred with Ph.D. degrees, while the remaining 6,180 are undergraduates.
