The management of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, has declared Monday, September 16, 2024, a public holiday to commemorate Eid-ul-Mawlid.
This follows the Federal Government's directive to declare the set day a public holiday across the country.
AAUA's directive was stated in a circular signed by the Registrar, Professor Olugbenga Arajulu, on September 14, 2024.
According to the statement, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Olugbenga Ige, instructed that all official duties be suspended on Monday, except for those on essential duties.
However, staff and students are informed that official activities in the university will resume on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.

PUBLIC HOLIDAY: EID-UL-MAWLID
I write on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olugbenga E. IGE, to inform all members of staff and students of the University that the Federal Government has declared Monday, September 16, 2024, as a public holiday in commemoration of this year's Eid-ul-Mawlid celebration.
The Vice Chancellor has, therefore, directed that the University be closed down for official duties on Monday, September 16, 2024, except those on essential duties.
All members of staff and students are requested to note that official activities resume in the University on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.
On behalf of the Vice Chancellor, I wish all members of staff and students of the University a peaceful Eid-ul-Mawlid celebration.
