A Nigerian popular Nollywood actor, Taiwo Ibikunle, is set to attend the induction ceremony for the new students of the Performing Arts department at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, AAUA.
Ibikunle disclosed this in a video he released on his Instagram handle, assuring his presence as the chief priest for the department's 7th induction ceremony themed "Redemption."
He urged his fans in Ondo State, mostly the students of AAUA, to get their tickets from the university and be present at the induction ceremony.
The event is to be held on the 29th of February and 1st of March at the Obasanjo Multi-purpose Hall (OBJ).
In an interview with ECHO MEDIA, the Social Director of the department, Umor Francis, emphasized that the induction ceremony is an annual program to indoctrinate the new students of the department into the world of performing arts.
Speaking on students' preparedness for the induction, Francis said, "It has been over three months of rigorous rehearsals, and it's certain that the freshers have learned so much from the world of Theatre. They automatically bear the name Thespians after the induction."
Similarly, one of the organizers, Adekunle Oluwatomisin, added that the induction is to formally introduce the new Performing Arts students to the world of Theater.
"The students of the department are eager and excited to host the Nollywood icon at its 7th induction ceremony, which will feature a lot of activities. This can be seen in the energy they have put into their rehearsals to make the D-day worthwhile," he said.
